Staying on a working farm in Northumberland offers the holiday maker not only accommodation of the very highest quality, but makes you an integral part of everyday life on the farm.
From settling down to your first REAL cooked farmhouse breakfast prepared using only the freshest of ingredients (over 75% of our members prepare their breakfast the traditional way - on an AGA), you can not help but become involved in the every day activities of the place. Nothing planned for the day? get your wellies on and take a look around - There's always something going on and fascinating characters to meet - Both animal AND human!. Some of our members can offer guided walks or quad trails around the farm and surrounding countryside. Or you may like to get some, "Hands-on" experience of helping out at lambing or calving times.
What's that funny yellow crop in the field? What breed of cow is that? Where are the nicest walks? Because we live and work in this countryside every single day, chances are we can answer whatever question you may have. Northumberland folk love, "The Crack", and many are natural story tellers, we believe whole heartedly that the people as much as the places of the region are the reason so many visitors return year after year - In fact over 40% of the groups business comes from repeat visitors.
We are also more than willing if at all possible to provide you with those little extra that will make your stay unforgettable - from bird watching hides for the twitcher to fishing equipment for the fisherman (or woman). We have one motto - "Just Ask!"
Northumberland is a county of diversity - And that means each of the farms are very different too, giving you a wide range of experiences all within easy traveling distance of each other - Stay on an upland hill farm to experience the rugged beauty and tranquility of the area, or stay on a farm near our famous un spoilt beaches with their rolling fields and spectacular views. You are quite literally spoilt for choice!
The North Northumberland Farm Holiday group have a vast amount of experience in providing the visitor to this beautiful region with holiday memories to treasure a lifetime. We welcome over 3,000 self catering and 12,000 Bed & Breakfast guests every year! Making us one of the largest accommodation providers in Northumberland.
To every single member, the accommodation business they run is a vital part of the lifestyle and income of the farm business. It isn't a hobby, or pocket money - Guests are as important and as welcome as the stock and crops in the fields.
